Why it is worth it

Aman Tokyo offers a profound sense of calm that is rare in a hyper-dense metropolis. The architectural details—such as the 33-meter heated swimming pool, rock gardens, and perfectly proportioned woodwork—are a masterclass in modern luxury.

Best for

Design travelers, urban explorers, and wellness seekers looking for an architectural sanctuary.

Good to know

The afternoon tea in the Lounge by Aman is highly sought after and should be booked months in advance.

Editorial Review

Occupying the top six floors of the Otemachi Tower, Aman Tokyo is a masterful exercise in scale. Designed by Kerry Hill, the hotel lobby is designed to mimic the interior of a giant shoji paper lantern, standing nearly 30 meters high. The rooms feature basalt stone baths, local camphor wood, and washi paper doors, framing dramatic views of the Imperial Palace Gardens and Mount Fuji on clear days.
